Been a bit too quite. With all the decal kits on there way and starting if not done already. Time to get ramped up.

So what type of planning are you guys and gals doing to ready yourself.

Studing the east coast maps and wikipedia stuff :crash:

I'm getting the last few decals made and put on, then the car will be ready. I'm bringing a few spare parts and some tools just in case, hopefully I won't need them.

I'm not bringing a CB this year, brought one on Rally Dixie and never used it. I'm not saying it couldn't be useful but it was more trouble than it was worth for us. I don't recall if I packed my folding chairs last year, but I know I didn't use them if they were packed so this year they're not coming for sure.

I bought a GoPro over the weekend, so I'll be testing it out over the next few weeks so I know who to use it. I also have a few apps on my phone that I'll be playing with on the rally one is called Waze and the other is Real Time GPS Tracker.

Waze could be super useful if enough people on the rally are using it, things like police, accidents, traffic and construction are collected and displayed on the maps.

Real Time GPS Tracker will show alot of neat details about your trip to whoever you provide the link, this could be fun to anyone wanting to keep up with you during the rally.

As far as my game plan goes, I'm just having fun this year. My Dad will be my co-driver/navigator which means using a tablet/smartphone/laptop to help us is pretty much not an option unless making him ugly is my goal. :P

I used my CB plenty last year. Mostly listening to other teams discussing where they thought they were going with some being dead on and other not so much. That and Scott & used them as they have a much better range than a 2 way radio. I will be bringing that along for sure.

GPS maps are being updated in the Garmin & the new radar detector.

I will also be working for as many additional donations as possible.

Yeah I forgot to mention Carlisle came too. BTW the numbers Scott cut for me are 736 NOT 763, but I can get them right.

Pretty sure our decal package came in but wasn't home for it.

Working out some issues with the engine making sure the car runs 110% a must when so far away.

Farshad and I will be at the track on Sunday so we will install the decals in between runs.

Working on stage two of donations. I hit a road block and a lot of people haven't donated as yet....... Yet...

Getting ready for a second fundraising push.
Working on how to utilize a contact. More on that later. Hints on my fundraising page ...
Base decals done. Coming up with some ideas for more, depending on how the contact thing develops.
Contact a local newspaper to spread the story.
Routine car maintenance.
Scoping out some iPhone apps. Wayze is kinda cool and luv the GPS Tracker idea.
Win Stamgy's Warm Up Rally!
Find a partner for RNE. Going solo is a possibility but it's more fun with a bud!

Car is good. Just a few more goodies coming in. Are we doing any night stages? Either way, i'll be prepped :)

All I have to do is swap on my 17" wheels with some meaty rubber the day before departure and put my vinyl stickers on last minute. I see people are installing their decals all over their cars already... aren't you guys worried about paint damage from keeping them on so long with the heat and all?

Nope. No worries about the decals. Heck, I just took my hood decal off a month ago. It was on since I got last May. Just lay down a couple of good coats of wax.

Your mileage may vary. :)

Putting decals on early is not a problem at all, I had my decals on for about 10 weeks last year and had no issues at all. I know other folks leave theirs on considerably longer and I've yet to hear of any issues.

I just took my Decals off from last year on Saturday without any problems. And it sat outside most of this year. So other that some dust sticking to the adhesive where the Decals had been it cleaned right up with clay bar.

Ha, okay, okay!

May upgrade my CB antenna before the rally, other than that all my gagdets are good to go. I will definately download WAZE and the GPS tracker tonight on my Tablet. Downloaded Waze and Real Time GPS Tracker, excited to use!

What do you guys use to run wi-fi to tap onto the internet while driving on the highway? Some sort of a hotspot device or you run it off your smartphones?

Anyone need a brand new Thule Atlantis 1600 roof box for the Rally to haul extra stuff? I have 2 so I don't need the second one anymore. I didn't see a Classified section here on RNA, so sorry.

Waze is good fun with enough people on it.

Internet is a hard one for us. Since we are from Canada its only gonna be good in Canada.

If we run our phones in the US for interenet we will run a huge bill.

So this we gotta figure it out.
