RMR count down to smack down.

Unread post by Zagger » Fri Aug 03, 2012 2:48 pm

Getting close to the start and no one is is posting about their plans for the rally. Personally my co driver just let me down so I might have to call Johny B. and see if I can borrow his girlfriend for this one. Otherwise I might have to change the team name to "SoLo rider". I see Tony is stepping over to the dark side and will be driving a Slowmaro SS Lol, How is everybody else prepping for this one?

I've got to find the keys to the Viewt to see if she'll start. Then will pull it out and get the stickers on her. Prolly will change the oil and check tire pressures before leaving Ohio. I'll pack a bag the morning of the trip.

It's still early to be getting too excited.

Team Stig is ready to rock and roll. Half the vinyl is on, and well put the rest on after the car gets back from the shop (putting some "extra-loud" parts on today). Will post a pic on the RNA facbook page once we get the rest vinyl on. We plan on staying a few extra days in vegas to visit exotics racing and drive some supercars along with a bunch of other awesome stuff, hopefully. We're stoked to meet everyone!

Welp, looks like I'll be rallying solo, as Farkas lost his co-worker coverage for work. So it'll be just me and the brave little Viewt. See ya in about a week, fellas.

I be heading to Albuquerque on Saturday around 6am from Phoenix, staying at the Hilton Garden Inn by the Journal Center. Plan on eating at Tucanos, one meal there will be enough. I'll heading to Colorado Springs Sunday morning and should pull in around 2-4pm. Not much left to do except pack up, fuel up and go.

Hey Jeff, I have not committed to which day as of yet. I'm thinking of very early Sunday or late Saturday and just power on non stop. I will be riding solo as well. Which rout are you taking up there? Who else is heading from west coast, thinking possible caravan?

I was planning on heading out on Sunday around 7p.m. to take advantage of the cooler night weather. Taking the 15 to the 70. I'm not sure who else is heading out from this area though. Caravaning would be great though

Just a warning for you guys heading east on I-70 into Denver.. Traffic is HORRIBLE Sunday afternoon, expect at least a 2 hr delay if you roll in anytime after 1PM. It clogs up because of all the people heading back into Denver from the mountains.

My suggestion would be to make it into Denver before noon. That will get you into the city before the huge traffic rush.

I'm afraid I have to send my regrets.. broken down in Colorado at the side of the road. Consensus is that its the throttle body. Looking at ways to transport it back to Ohio. Wishing everyone a safe rally.

Thanks for the sentiments. Let's hope this is the only breakdown of the Rally.

AAA got me 200 miles east to mid-Kansas for free, where I'm comfy at the Hampton.

Right now I have one reasonable offer for transport Sunday, via trailer, back to central Ohio. However the Ohio crew might be sending a convoy out (924 miles each way) if things come together.

On the bright side, I raised some more money for the Acclerated Cure Project. The Viewt should be all sorted out for the Ohio Mile in late September.

Good luck to all and enjoy the Rally. :-)

Glad to hear you are half way Doc and that the Ohio Crew is there for you.... Nice day today lots of great scenery. Best of luck making it the rest of the way and thank you for helping ACP for MS even with the car issues.
