Mid-Atlantic caravan to Nobleville

Unread post by SANDU002 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 10:20 am

Most if not all of Team CCGTO will be going out on Sunday, June 17th. We will start near Frederick, Md and head west. We invite any Rally Dixie teams to join in at any point. Send me an email at oscsandusky@verizon.net with your cell # and where you want to join us. I will get back to you with an idea when we will be in your area. The day we head out, I will give you a call when I think we are within 30 minutes of you to give you a checkpoint to meet us. Its about a 10 hour drive from the start point so it will be pretty much a direct shot unless someone knows a nice little deviation that would be fun.

Bill, I am leaving from around Wilmignton Delaware so I will most likely shooting out the PA Turnpike and meet up with you guys somewhere on 70. If anybody else is heading out the same way (Pa Turnpike) let me know. Not sure how early everyone is leaving yet. I am open to suggestions.

We will probably be leaving from the start point at 8 am so that would put us at Columbus around 3 pm.

I am heading out Sunday early AM 9:00AM to 10:00AM time frame out the Turnpike to Route 70. I'm thinking 70 is going to have plenty of rally cars on it Sunday & Monday.

Your right Tony. I guess if we don't behave ourselves on Sunday, the Monday guys might run into a few speed traps........lol

That's possible. I have no idea when we are rolling out as my Navi is flying in from Oregon the night before.

Since I drive better than I navigate, I guess Team CCGTO will figure out all the details at the next meeting in May.....lol. I do know we should plan to arrive at the rally start point before 8 pm. The intent of the thread now is to see who wants to join in with us.

For what it's worth, it's 604 miles and 10 hours 45 minutes from my location to the Hotel in Noblesville.

From my house Google maps shows a door to door all interstate route of 598 miles with an estimated drive time of 10 hours 5 minutes..... based on a 60 mph average speed. My conservative drive time estimate is 8.5 hours and if we roll like we did back from Charleston last year, that could be about another hour shorter.

From Frederick its about 555 miles....

I want to do the Fathers Day thing with my little girl all day Sunday. Monday morning we'll probably shoot out Rt 50, cut up through OH33 and meet my cousin for lunch in Columbus, then take 70 the rest of the way. Our trip is only a little over 6 hours, so it shouldn't be too bad.
