I was born and raised in southern Louisiana. I'm a musician, writer, father, autocrosser, and generally all-around hoopy frood. I'm a huge fan of Brock Yates and the original Cannonball people. Not interested in breaking records as much as I'm interested in cruising cross-country in a sporty car.
For those of you who don't know me, I drive a 2006 Saturn Ion Redline. Limited production car, only 5,800 or so made, and only about 1,000 with the Competition Package option. Here's a rundown on the car:
Supercharged LSJ motor, 2.0L, deep sump oil pan, piston oil jets, water-air intercooler, Eaton M62 blower, Getrag F35 trans. Recaro seats. Brakes, suspension, and drivetrain are all different from the base Saturn Ion. Stock is 205HP. Mine is around 250 or so.
It was developed over several years, and during that time a factory-backed Saturn SC won the economy class of One Lap of America 4 years in a row (2000-2003).
The Competition Package adds: grey wheels, limited slip diff, column-mounted boost gauge and ladder tach. It's made for track days, and has a tool-less swappable ECM for that purpose. This is the car the Cobalt SS is based on. The SS/SC is identical except for the forged aluminum front suspension arms.
It looks like this:

And it runs like this (stock):

It's lightly modded, has the factory Stage 2 injectors and tune and I'm about to swap on the matching pulley. It's a great highway car.
Sooo.... what's up, people?
