Actually this is a concern of mine. They were driving some pretty damn powerful cars, but they made a great point. Is the speed limit really that low on that highway. I certainly hope not or no fun will be had. I don't need to do 130 but I would like to go faster than 45. And to the Canadians reading this, that's 45 Miles Per Hour. Not Kilometers or Yards or whatever you judge distance with Mike. Hahahaha. Did I say Mike, I meant... someone else. :snicker:

There is a good chunk that will be closer to 45 KM per hour. Quite a few chunks of the parkway are 30 or 35 mph, I do believe.

Yeah, it is that slow, but there are other roads we will get to drive on.

There are places that you can get up to 50-55, and there are places that you'd be stupid to try to push the car that fast. The way I look at it, with the group that's going, I know we'll have a blast if we're going 15mph or 80mph.

So true, I'm looking forward to it!! One of the main reason for the low speed limits on the Parkway, is so you and other can enjoy the scenery. There are some breathe taking overlooks to stop at along the way.

Plus it will be a nice place to roll up the windows, turn the a/c on, set cruise, and just relax.

Bite your tongue Butler. It'll be nicer cruising through the woods with the windows down and the t-tops off. A/C..... :lame:

I'll trade places with Tina on the parkway! It's to nice up there to have the windows closed.

It makes it easier to make this decision as my A/C is being left home in the basement. Haha.

I really thought this leg out and YES the speed limit is low on Blue Ridge parkway but there are NO other roads that will give you these views and the amount of time you need to spend there & on Skyline is limited.

I was talking to a guy at a local car show yesterday about this....he said that there are areas that you wont want to go fast on....partially because of the chance of vertigo.....

Just got home from an early morning drive on the BRP. ( we live in little Switzerland, nc, just about 200 yards off the BRP) Some of the best driving anywhere.
