The goat got new plugs and wires today. Strut mount bearing is still MIA in the UPS system. Thinking I may have to do 2 tires as well. IF I can get up in time tomorrow, I'm taking a little shake down run to Bedford, PA area for a little show at a local VFD. I just feel like a drive as the weather is looking good.

Just replaced the nose badge with the nicer design decepticon. Tomorrow the spoiler gets replaced after a 90mph incident of it coming loose. Damn bastard installers cutting corners!! Also got the vinyl Guy printing the last batch of decals. Hooking up aux lights and gathering all my papers ie reservation info

I'm really looking forward to your decepticon Chris! Did you take it to the premiere of the latest Transformers?

And I plan on installing my CB today, but I had a question to those of you who are using it: What exactly are you guys gonna use it for? Just to mess around with other teams using it? Or is there some actual rally purpose for it. Either way, gotta get an antenna and mount it!

Still got to install CB, and get the new tires mounted. BUT now I have to find out why my batt is DEAD after the 130 amp ALT upgrade. When to go somewhere a few mins ago and she is dead in the water...Needless to say i'm NOT a happy camper right now!!!!! :pissed:

CBs are a good means of communication to other ralliers, far mor distance than 2ways can reach. Its also fun to listen to the truckers talk about all these cars with numbers driving everywhere. lol

Well, they were delivered this afternoon and man are they SSSSWWWEEEEEETTTT!!!! It is Christmas in July for Toolbox! With much self-control, however, methinks I will just have to wait and not risk it this close to go-time, despite the wife trying to talk me into putting them on now. I will have to settle for the simple wrenching of an oil change and cleaning of the vararam filter this weekend instead.
Oil change - CHECK!

Just in case you've never done an oil change on a lowered vette without access to a nearby lift, not exactly easy. 40 minutes of prep just to get it up on ramps, then jack/stand the front, then jack/block one side rear, then jack/block other side rear, then jack/stand rear higher than front to get the oil to completely drain. Pretty standard earl change from there, and then fun to reverse the whole thing. :smoke: Anyway, it's done, and I'm glad. Time to roll soon. LTH's are just going to wait.

Ya'll need some damn ingenuity. as for the vette, if you block the front right. you can put a board under the rear diff and jack it up in one big swoop. . ...

a lift costs well under $2k now.. worth every penny. ( and i still have to drive my vette up on boards to get the 2 posts arms under it lol.

We are going to have a handheld scanner/cb in the goat. It is a GREAT thing to have. Yes, I know some of these nav systems claim "real time" traffic conditions and such, but what is even better is the truckers informing each other of upcoming "situations"......and yes...... 5-0..... not that it should be an issue :shady:. With being around the areas of I-81, traffic jams tend to pop up for no reason at all. It could also come in handy if you find some locals if you are having trouble finding an exact point. They commonly do have better range than 2 ways as well. The scanner will be nice for obvious reasons as well. I also would like to hear if the local/statie cops are watching us closely as well as just hear general "traffic" on everyone.

Batt charged, and ALT re-wired the correct way this time. Thank GOD nothing got damaged from the mis-wiring.

One more week to stop this exhaust leak or I'm going to be the most miserable person in the world during the rally if I have to drive around with everyone getting to hear that awful noise.
This is driving me crazy.

The shop that does some work on my car, roll out the floor jacks, to get the hoist setup. i am glad to see them do it, instead of trying to jury rig something.

Looks like I'm going to add 2 new tires to the mix as well. I was back and forth on it, but I'll keep the ones on there now and go ahead and slap 2 new ones on.

Yes we did. It was awesome! Also went to the FastFive premier and to anyone that saw it knows why having a badass challenger 5 minutes after the movie ends is like an open invite to getting laid

If you have an Android-based smartphone, check out the app called "Trapster" if you haven't already. I use it and it is pretty slick and handy. Could come in particularly useful for all of us going through VA since detectors are illegal. I'm sure there are enough of us that could help each other out reporting any sightings of Bears (and I'm not referring to the furry ones you might also see along Skyline Drive and the BRP).
